01Who we are
DadLink Technologies Limited is an independent software studio registered in England and Wales under company number 16161444, based in Handforth, Macclesfield, Cheshire. Every product in our portfolio - whatever name it trades under - is owned and operated by DadLink Technologies Limited. When these terms say we, us or the studio, that is who you are dealing with.
02How these terms work
We run a portfolio of quite different things: subscription software, business CRMs, in-person services, and iOS apps. They have different pricing models, different billing cycles, different grace periods and different refund rules, because they are different products. So the terms work in two layers:
- Product terms - each product publishes its own terms on its own site (or, for iOS apps, through the App Store). These carry the specifics: what the product does, what it costs, how billing works, trial and grace periods, refunds, cancellation and any rules unique to that service. Where a product's terms cover a point, the product's terms win.
- These general terms - the framework underneath. They govern this website in full, and they fill any gap a product's terms leave open. Sections 08 to 15 (acceptable use through governing law) apply to every product unless its own terms expressly say otherwise.
Signed up to one of our products? Its own terms page is your contract for the money side - price, billing, grace period, refunds. This page covers everything those terms don't, and it is the whole of the deal for this website itself.
By using this website, or by using any of our products where these terms apply as the fallback, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site or the product.
03Using this website
dadlinktechnologies.co.uk is a portfolio and information site. You are welcome to browse it, link to it and contact us through it. In return:
- Do not attempt to breach its security, probe its infrastructure or interfere with its operation
- Do not scrape it at a scale or in a way that burdens the service
- Do not present its content as your own
The content on this site is provided for general information. It describes what we build and how we work; it is not professional advice, and while we keep it accurate, we make no promise it is complete or current at the moment you read it. Product features, pricing and availability described here are indicative - the product's own site is authoritative.
04Our product categories
The portfolio falls into broad categories, and the shape of the contract follows the category:
Subscription software (SaaS)
Platforms billed monthly or annually - communications tools, CRMs, invoicing software and the like. Access continues while the subscription is paid. Each platform's terms state its plans, billing cycle, any trial, its grace period for failed payments, and what happens to your data on cancellation.
Business CRMs
Operational systems businesses run their day on. As well as subscription terms, these carry service-specific rules: user seats, data ownership (yours), export rights and support arrangements - all set out in the product's own terms.
Services
Things we do rather than software you run - screening, assessment and other appointment-based services. These are governed by the booking terms presented when you book, covering appointments, cancellation notice, rescheduling, deposits and the nature and limits of the service itself.
iOS apps
Our App Store apps are distributed under Apple's standard End User Licence Agreement unless an app presents its own. Purchases and subscriptions made through the App Store are processed, billed and refunded by Apple under Apple's terms - refund requests for App Store purchases go to Apple, not us.
05Accounts
Where a product requires an account:
- The information you register with must be accurate, and kept accurate
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for everything done under your account
- Business accounts may add their own users; the account holder is responsible for its users' conduct
- Tell us promptly at support@dadlink.co.uk if you believe your account has been compromised
- You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to open a paid account
06Payments, renewals and refunds
Because the specifics differ by product, the binding numbers - prices, billing dates, trial lengths, grace periods, refund windows - live in each product's own terms and checkout flow. The following applies everywhere:
- Processing - card and subscription payments on our own platforms are processed by Stripe; we never see or store full card details. App Store purchases are processed by Apple.
- Renewals - subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date, and the product tells you the cycle before you commit
- Failed payments - each product states its grace period; after it expires unpaid, access may be suspended and, after further notice, the account closed under section 13
- Price changes - we can change a product's pricing with notice; changes take effect from your next renewal, never mid-cycle, and you are free to cancel before they apply
- Taxes - prices state whether VAT is included; where it applies, it appears on your invoice
- Statutory rights - nothing in any of our terms reduces the rights you have under UK consumer law, including (where they apply) cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013
For your product's exact billing terms, grace period and refund policy, see the terms link in that product's footer or checkout. If you genuinely cannot find them, email us and we will point you to them.
07Bespoke and project work
Custom development and project work is governed by the written quote, proposal or statement of work we agree with you - scope, price, milestones, payment schedule and deliverables all live there, and that document prevails over this page wherever they differ. Unless the agreement says otherwise: quotes are valid for 30 days, work begins on acceptance and any agreed deposit, and invoices are payable within 14 days. We may charge statutory interest on late commercial payments under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
08Acceptable use
Across every product and this website, you must not:
- Break the law, or use a product to help anyone else break it
- Send spam or unlawful marketing through any of our communications products - use of our voice, SMS and email tooling must comply with UK regulations including PECR and Ofcom rules
- Upload malicious code, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system or another customer's data
- Harass, defraud or impersonate anyone
- Resell, sublicense or white-label a product without a written agreement with us
- Reverse engineer, copy or build a competing product from our software except where the law expressly permits it
- Use any product in a way that degrades the service for other customers
Breach of this section is grounds for suspension or termination under section 13.
09Intellectual property
We own our software, code, designs, product names, branding and the content of our sites. Your subscription or purchase buys you a licence to use the product for its intended purpose - non-exclusive, non-transferable, and lasting as long as your subscription or the app licence does. It does not transfer ownership of anything to you.
For bespoke work, ownership of deliverables is whatever the statement of work says. Where it is silent: you own the deliverables we build specifically for you once paid for in full, and we retain ownership of our pre-existing code, tooling and know-how, which you get a licence to use as part of the deliverable.
10Your content and data
What you put into our products stays yours - your customer records, invoices, bookings, artwork, recordings and everything else you create or upload. You grant us the licence we need to host, process, back up and display it, purely to run the service for you.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload - including, where you record calls or store other people's personal data in a product, your own legal obligations to those people. How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy, and each product's policy adds the specifics. Export and post-cancellation data handling are stated in each product's terms.
11Availability and support
We run production systems and take uptime seriously, but no online service is available 100% of the time. Unless a product's terms include a specific service level commitment, products are provided on an "as available" basis: we may take services down for maintenance (with notice where practical), and we are not liable for outages caused by events outside our reasonable control - including failures of hosting providers, telecoms carriers and other third-party infrastructure we depend on.
Support is by email at support@dadlink.co.uk unless your product or agreement says otherwise. We aim to respond within one business day.
12Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales. Nothing in them reduces a consumer's statutory rights.
Subject to that:
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, or loss or corruption of data (keep backups; our products' export tools exist for a reason)
- Our total liability to you in connection with a product in any 12-month period is capped at the amount you paid us for that product in that period - or £100 where you have paid nothing
- For bespoke work, our total liability is capped at the price of the engagement unless the statement of work agrees a different figure
- We are not responsible for third-party services you connect to our products, or for decisions you take based on the output of any product - including AI-generated content, which you should review before relying on
13Suspension and termination
By you: cancel a subscription at any time through the product or by emailing us; cancellation takes effect per that product's terms, normally at the end of the paid period.
By us: we may suspend or terminate access where payment has failed and the product's grace period has passed, where you materially breach these or a product's terms, where the law requires it, or - for free products - where we retire the product, with reasonable notice.
On termination, your licence to use the product ends. Each product's terms state its data export window after closure; our privacy policy states what happens to personal data. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive - intellectual property, liability, governing law - survive termination.
14Changes to these terms
We update these terms as the portfolio and the law evolve. The version and date at the top of the page tell you what you are reading. For material changes affecting paying customers, we will give notice by email or in-product message before they take effect; continuing to use the product after that date is acceptance. If you do not accept a change, cancel before it takes effect.
15Governing law
These terms, and every product's terms unless they expressly state otherwise, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction - except that if you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings where you live. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stands. A failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it.
