Find what's on Local paddleboarding meets
01 / The Meets

Local meets,
local paddles.

PaddlePals shows you what's happening on the water near you — this weekend's group paddle, next month's evening session, the early-morning club outings. Browse, join, turn up at the launch point.

  • Map view of meets. See what's happening near you, when, and how to get there.
  • Filter by what matters. Skill level, distance, cost, time of day — find the meet that fits how you paddle.
  • Join in one tap. Sign up, get the launch point, turn up. No forms, no faff.
  • Calendar view. Plan ahead — see what's coming this week, this month, this season.
  • Notifications you actually want. Meets that match your interests, sent before they fill up. No spam.

02 / The Routes

Routes worth
knowing.

Every UK paddleboarding spot has its quirks — the hidden launch point, the bit that's lovely at high tide and tricky at low, the cafe at the other end. PaddlePals collects routes, conditions, and local notes from people who actually paddle them.

  • Route library. Distance, difficulty, conditions, parking, launch points — everything you'd want before driving out.
  • Tide-aware. UK tide windows for routes where it matters — coastal launches, river estuaries, tidal lochs.
  • Local notes. The bits that aren't on the maps — the dodgy bit by the bridge, the fast water, the friendly dog walkers.
  • Share your routes. Once you know a spot, others can find it. The library grows with the community.
  • Save favourites. Your local list, your way — for the ones you'll paddle again and again.

03 / The Organisers

For the people
running the meets.

Instructors, clubs, and event organisers can host paid sessions through Stripe Connect — sign-ups handled, payments collected, attendees emailed automatically. The boring bits stay invisible so the paddling stays the focus.

  • Stripe Connect. Payments paid out to your account, fully audited, no chasing payments at the launch.
  • Free or paid events. Set your own pricing — beginner taster sessions, club socials, paid lessons, weekend trips.
  • Automated email confirmations. Sign-up confirmations, day-before reminders, what-to-bring lists — sent automatically by SendGrid.
  • Attendee lists. See who's coming, what they need, what they paid — before you turn up at the launch.
  • Cancellations & refunds. Handled simply — refunds processed, attendees notified, cover arranged if you need to.
  • Brand your meets. Clubs and instructors keep their identity — your name, your logo, your voice.

04 / The Approach

Community without
the feed.

PaddlePals isn't another social network. There's no infinite scroll, no follower count, no engagement metrics. Just the meets, the routes, and the paddlers — connecting through actual paddling, not through posts about it.

  • No infinite feed. Open the app, see what's relevant, close it. Get on the water.
  • No engagement metrics. No likes, no follower counts, no algorithm rewarding the loudest paddler.
  • Direct messaging for attendees. Coordinate the practical stuff — kit, lifts, who's bringing the cake.
  • Privacy by default. Share your location only when you choose to, never when you don't.
  • Free for paddlers. The free tier covers what most paddlers need — meets, routes, joining sessions. Paid features are for organisers.
  • iOS-native. Built for the device you actually take to the launch — and the slightly damp pocket it lives in.

On the water, together

Stop paddling alone.
Find your paddle pals.

Open the app, find a local meet, turn up. The community is friendly, the water is inviting, and the kit lives in the boot anyway. The first session is the hard one — after that, you'll wonder why you waited.
